KnoppMyth Install Screencast

KnoppMyth is a linux distribution that tries to make the installation of MythTV and Linux as easy as possible. KnoppMyth R5E50 is the first KnoppMyth release to be based on MythTV 0.20.
I installed KnoppMyth R5E50 in about 20 minutes and have created a screencast of the process. The video in the screencast has been edited down to a little less than nine minutes.
The screencast starts at the first screen once the install cd is booted up. I selected the default boot parameters at the lilo prompt by hitting enter at the lilo prompt.
In general, the installation for me was very straightforward, with the exception of two things:

Time and Date - I had to select my timezone and date twice. Not sure why that was needed, and maybe that will be fixed in a future release.
mythtvsetup - It put me into mythtvsetup twice. Again, I'm not sure why. The second time, I just hit escape to exit it and things worked out fine.

These may be issues that will get worked out in a future release. I know the first MythTV 0.20 release of MythDora went through a few bugfix iterations once released, KnoppMyth may be similar. It may not install this well for everybody or all systems, but at least in some situations, it's possible to go from a cold boot to an installed and working KnoppMyth MythTV system in about 20 minutes.

The reason for the second run...

Cool! The reason it runs mythtv-setup twice is to to help speed up the installation process. If you complete steps 1 - 4 (really, 2 - 4 as one is already done for you) in the setup, the first time mythfilldatabase would run, it would get 13 days of listings. When mythtv-setup first runs, you should complete steps 1 -3 and exit. After this, we have mythfilldatabase run and only get one day's worth of listings. When you return to mythtv-setup, complete step 4 (and 5 if you need to scan for channels. There should be no need for this with "SD" tuners) and exit. We then rerun mythfilldatabase in the background to grab the other 12 days while the configuration continues. By doing this, the configuration time is cut down. One users has reported going from nothing to HD in 10 minutes! :D

Installation Problem

hi, thxs for your tutorial. i followed all your instructions but have a problem when i boot knoppmyth after installing it. i have the following message : INIT: ID "c7" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
